Croydon has no shortage of yoga. There are big studios, gym chains, and classes that run like clockwork with 25 people on mats so close together you can hear each other breathe. Some people love that. If you're reading this page, you might be looking for something else.
I have students who make the trip from Croydon every week. When I asked one of them why she didn't just go somewhere closer, she said: "Because you actually see me." That stuck with me. In a class of 10, I notice when something's off. I notice when you're guarding your shoulder, or when you're carrying the week on your face. And I teach accordingly.
My studio is a purpose-built room at the end of my garden in Wallington. There's proper equipment, and a silence you simply don't get in a commercial space above a shop. It's about three miles from South Croydon — far enough to feel like a proper escape, close enough that it's not a mission.
