Re-opening After Lockdown

The yoga den post lockdown.jpeg

It was confirmed by a positive antibody test at St Helier that I had COVID-19 March/April. I was very ill for over 3 weeks, it has made me even more aware of safety.

Om Sahana Vavatu means "May we be protected together". One of the ways we can do this is by wearing a face covering. The World Health Organisation are investigating that the virus transmission could be airborne instead of just through droplets in the air.

One of the jobs of a yoga teacher is to keep students safe; physically, mentally and emotionally. I now need to do my best to keep you safe during these times. A face covering helps mitigate the transmission of the virus from asymptomatic people.

Yoga classes via Zoom have been amazing and they can continue. Free online classes will continue for those who have lost jobs through the crisis.

I'm making the The Yoga Den safe for you.

Classes will be physically distanced for 5 students.

Students to bring their own mats (blankets when needed).

Temperature checks at the door, each time you come.

Bring a face covering, its mandatory here.

Automatic no-touch hand sanitiser to be used at the door.

Regular cleaning of floor and surfaces touched, using appropriate products by DELPHI. You can read more about them here DELPH

Before Class

Booking Procedure. The booking procedure will be the same process, with the added need to fill in a simple health declaration each time.

Temperature Checks. I will be checking your temperature before entering The Yoga Den. Anyone with a raised temperature will not be able to enter the studio and a refund will be issued. There will be no logs of the  temperature checks.

Arriving to class will now be only 5 mins before. Please arrive in this time as I will be unable to accept latecomers. Once I start the class it's unfair for me to stop and start taking peoples temperatures who are late, there is only me, no receptionist.

Please arrive in your yoga wear. The toilet in my house can not be used for changing.

Please use the toilet before you come to class. I would like to limit the amount of people who enter my home at this time. The toilet can be used if absolutely necessary.

We all have our part to play in keeping safe. I will be asking you to follow some rules.

  • Stay 2m distance outside the class

  • No gathering in groups outside the studio

  • Use the hand foam on entry

  • Wear a face covering

Please do not book a class if you have been in contact with someone who has the virus.

Please do not book a class if you are unwell with cough or cold, or simply feel below par.

During Class

Classes will be small and intimate with just 5 students. That is 50% less, there will be plenty of space between mats. No mats will be opposite each other now.

After Class

Once the class has finished I will ask you to please file out one at a time to the garden for you to then leave the studio. Please remember to keep 2m apart from people outside of your household.

Price Increase

As you can appreciate in-studio classes have increased in price. Moving from £11 to £14. Meditation will be £10. I have kept this increase as low as I can afford to, to be able to stay in business. I hope you understand. The online classes will remain the same.

Looking Forward to Your Return

Classes may be a little different, but they will be glorious! I will be using the sound bowls at the start and finish of class. We will not do anything that could cause you to be breathless. Slow somatic movements will be practiced this helps you to connect and feel what's going on inside our body, this creates a state of equilibrium.

I hope you are remaining well in these times. It will be so great to see you again in person, I've missed you!

With love and gratitude Viv x
